Practicing with a Score
- You do not need to connect your guitar to the PC
- You need speakers or headphones for audio playback
- You can use built-in songs or custom MIDI with score display, tempo controls, and the metronome
Using Training Mode
- An electric guitar or another instrument with line output
- An audio interface with an instrument input
- The latest audio driver for your interface
- Wired headphones or speakers
For low-latency performance feedback on Windows, an ASIO®-compatible audio interface is recommended. The application uses Standard Mode when ASIO is unavailable.
Enable ASIO on Windows
The Windows version includes the ASIO-enabled PortAudio component. You only need to install the driver for your audio interface.
- 01
Install the ASIO driver for your interface
Install the latest ASIO driver provided by the manufacturer of your audio interface.
- 02
Restart the application
Close and restart Guitar Practice Mate after installing or updating the driver.
- 03
Select the ASIO device
Open the audio input settings and select your interface's ASIO device.
The bundled component does not install the hardware driver. The manufacturer-provided ASIO driver for your audio interface is still required.

ASIO-compatible audio support
ASIO is a registered trademark of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH.
Audio Setup Notes
- Bluetooth headphones and speakers may introduce significant latency
- Install your audio interface driver before launching the application
- After changing equipment, select the input device again and recalibrate latency
- When using a microphone input, room noise and speaker output may affect detection
